Instructions
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, whisk together whole milk and heavy cream until steaming but not boiling.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks and sugar until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes).
- Gradually pour half of the hot milk mixture into the egg yolk mixture while continuously whisking to avoid scrambling the eggs. Slowly return everything to the saucepan.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon (about 5 minutes).
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract, nutmeg, and cinnamon until well combined.
- Pour pudding into serving dishes or one large bowl. Cover with plastic wrap pressed directly onto the surface to prevent skin formation and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
