Ingredients

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, whisk together whole milk and heavy cream until steaming but not boiling.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks and sugar until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes).
  3. Gradually pour half of the hot milk mixture into the egg yolk mixture while continuously whisking to avoid scrambling the eggs. Slowly return everything to the saucepan.
  4. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon (about 5 minutes).
  5. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract, nutmeg, and cinnamon until well combined.
  6. Pour pudding into serving dishes or one large bowl. Cover with plastic wrap pressed directly onto the surface to prevent skin formation and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
