Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 3 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2–4 tbsp milk (adjust for desired consistency)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, warm milk until lukewarm. Sprinkle in yeast and sugar; let sit for about 5 minutes until bubbly.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, eggs, melted butter, and the bubbly yeast mixture. Mix until a sticky dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 to 7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl and cover; let rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- In another bowl, mix together brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Once risen, roll out dough on a floured surface into a rectangle (about 1/2 inch thick). Spread melted butter over the surface and sprinkle evenly with cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Starting from one end, tightly roll the dough into a log shape. Cut into approximately twelve equal pieces and place cut-side up in a greased baking dish.
- Allow rolls to rise again for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake rolls for about 25 minutes or until golden brown.
- While cooling slightly, mix powdered sugar with vanilla extract and milk to make the glaze. Drizzle generously over warm rolls before serving.
