Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 24 tbsp milk (adjust for desired consistency)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, warm milk until lukewarm. Sprinkle in yeast and sugar; let sit for about 5 minutes until bubbly.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, eggs, melted butter, and the bubbly yeast mixture. Mix until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 to 7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl and cover; let rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. In another bowl, mix together brown sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Once risen, roll out dough on a floured surface into a rectangle (about 1/2 inch thick). Spread melted butter over the surface and sprinkle evenly with cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  6. Starting from one end, tightly roll the dough into a log shape. Cut into approximately twelve equal pieces and place cut-side up in a greased baking dish.
  7. Allow rolls to rise again for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake rolls for about 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. While cooling slightly, mix powdered sugar with vanilla extract and milk to make the glaze. Drizzle generously over warm rolls before serving.
