- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs

Instructions
- 1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook elbow macaroni until al dente, about 8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- 2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef or turkey until fully cooked. Drain excess fat if necessary and stir in marinara sauce. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- 3. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, half a cup of mozzarella cheese, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
- 4. In a large bowl, mix cooked macaroni with the meat sauce and cheese mixture, ensuring all components are evenly coated.
- 5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a greased baking dish, layer half of the macaroni mixture, sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese, then add another layer on top.
- 6. Sprinkle panko breadcrumbs over the top layer for crunch. Bake uncovered for about 30 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
