Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, finely chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, chopped spinach, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined without overmixing.
  3. Form the mixture into equal-sized balls about one inch in diameter and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until cooked through and browned on top.
  5. While the meatballs are baking, heat marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat.
  6. Once the meatballs are baked, gently place them into the sauce and let them simmer for an additional five minutes.
  7. Serve warm on plates or family-style from the pan with extra marinara sauce drizzled over.
