  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 4 cups powdered sugar

  • ¼ cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two round cake pans or line them with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar until combined.
  3. In another bowl, mix together eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until blended.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture while stirring gently until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and bake for about 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let the cakes cool in pans for about ten minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
  7. Beat softened butter in a bowl until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and cocoa powder while mixing.
  8. Add heavy cream and beat until you achieve a smooth and spreadable consistency.
