Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two round cake pans or line them with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar until combined.
- In another bowl, mix together eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until blended.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture while stirring gently until just combined.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and bake for about 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in pans for about ten minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
- Beat softened butter in a bowl until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and cocoa powder while mixing.
- Add heavy cream and beat until you achieve a smooth and spreadable consistency.
