  2. Cut the French bread into one-inch cubes. Let them sit out overnight or briefly dry them in the oven to ensure they absorb the broth without becoming mushy.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add the diced onion and chopped celery, sautéing until softened, about five minutes.
  4. In your mixing bowl, combine the bread cubes with the sautéed onion and celery mixture. Stir in chopped sage and thyme until well mixed.
