Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 18×13-inch baking sheet.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt until combined.
- In another bowl, mix the buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and stir in cocoa powder until blended.
- Remove from heat and whisk in powdered sugar alternately with milk until smooth.
- Once the cake has cooled completely, frost generously with the chocolate frosting.
