  • Pink food coloring (to desired hue)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Heat the milk until warm (about 110°F), then mix it with the yeast and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Add melted butter to the yeast mixture and combine with the dry ingredients to form a soft dough.
  4. Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth; add more flour if sticky.
  5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the risen dough and roll it into a rectangle about half an inch thick. Brush melted butter over the surface and sprinkle generously with cinnamon.
  7. Roll the dough tightly from one end to another and slice into twelve equal pieces.
