Ingredients

  • 4 medium onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or seasoned)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Sauté the Onions: In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the sliced onions and sauté until soft and golden brown, about 10-15 minutes.
  3. Mix Cheese and Cream: In a mixing bowl, combine the mozzarella, cheddar, and heavy cream. Stir until well mixed.
  4. Layer the Ingredients: Spread half of the sautéed onions in the prepared baking dish. Pour half of the cheese mixture over them, add the remaining onions, followed by the rest of the cheese mixture on top.
  5. Add Breadcrumbs: Sprinkle breadcrumbs generously over the top layer of cheese.
  6. Bake: Place in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Serve: Remove from oven, let cool slightly, then serve hot.
