- 9 lasagna noodles (no-boil)
- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 cup Monterey Jack cheese, grated
- 2 cups whole milk
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook elbow macaroni in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Gradually whisk in milk until thickened (about three minutes). Add both cheeses and stir until melted and creamy.
- In a baking dish, layer some cheese sauce at the bottom, followed by noodles, half of the macaroni mixture, and more cheese sauce. Repeat layers until ingredients are used up.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
