- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 15 oz whole-milk ricotta cheese
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 9 lasagna noodles (traditional or no-boil)
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in tomato sauce and Italian seasoning; simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, beaten egg, half of shredded mozzarella, half of shredded cheddar, salt, and pepper; mix well.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente; drain.
- In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom.
- Layer with noodles followed by half of the cheese mixture. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used.
- Top with remaining mozzarella and cheddar.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil during the last 10 minutes for a golden top.
