Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine chicken thighs, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, and brown sugar. Marinate for at least one hour.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the marinated chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about five minutes per side. Remove from heat and let it rest before shredding.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together all-purpose flour and active dry yeast.
  4. Gradually add warm milk until a soft dough forms. Knead gently on a floured surface until smooth.
  5. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Once risen, divide your dough into golf ball-sized pieces. Roll each piece into circles.
  7. Place shredded chicken in the center of each circle and pinch closed to form buns.
  8. Place each bun on parchment paper squares in a steamer basket and steam over boiling water for about ten minutes until puffy.
  9. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce!
