Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1-inch piece fresh ginger, grated
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine chicken thighs, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, and brown sugar. Marinate for at least one hour.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the marinated chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about five minutes per side. Remove from heat and let it rest before shredding.
- In a large bowl, mix together all-purpose flour and active dry yeast.
- Gradually add warm milk until a soft dough forms. Knead gently on a floured surface until smooth.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour or until doubled in size.
- Once risen, divide your dough into golf ball-sized pieces. Roll each piece into circles.
- Place shredded chicken in the center of each circle and pinch closed to form buns.
- Place each bun on parchment paper squares in a steamer basket and steam over boiling water for about ten minutes until puffy.
- Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce!
