Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until fully combined.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Gently fold in the chocolate chips and dried cherries.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto lined baking sheets, leaving about two inches between each cookie. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set but centers remain soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
