Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cold, cut into chunks)
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cherries (pitted)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cold, cut into chunks)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and cold butter. Mix until crumbly.
  3. Press half of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish and bake for 10 minutes.
  4. In another bowl, toss pitted cherries with sugar and flour until well coated.
  5. Once crust is baked, spread cherry filling evenly over it.
  6. In a mixing bowl, combine rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and cold butter. Blend until crumbly.
  7. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the cherry filling.
  8. Place in preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  9. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
